Child protection

Both Wioski follow the Standardy Ochrony Małoletnich, the child protection standards required by Polish law. Here you will find the official document for each Wioska (in Polish) and an English summary of what matters most to parents.

Summary

What parents should know

This summary is for guidance only. The binding text is the official document in Polish.

What they are

Every institution working with children in Poland must have them (Article 22b of the Act of 13 May 2016). They apply at both Wioski, in their 2026/2027 version, and are reviewed at least every two years.

Children’s wellbeing comes first

Violence of any kind, physical or verbal, is never acceptable. An adult may only hold a child back to keep them safe (for example, if they run towards the street), never as a punishment.

Who works with your child

Everyone who has contact with the children, including trainees, volunteers and people running extra activities, is checked against the Sex Offenders Register and the National Criminal Register (KRK), confirms in writing that they know the standards and receives training.

Between children

We teach simple rules: “no” and “stop” end the game, my body belongs to me, telling an adult is not telling tales. If a child is hurt, the carer stops the behaviour, looks after the child and informs the parents of both children the same day.

Photos and personal data

We only use a child’s image with the parents’ written consent. Nobody from outside may photograph or film the children without that consent. Children do not use the internet on their own.

Collecting your child

Children are collected by their parents or by a person the parents have authorised in writing. We never hand a child over to anyone who is intoxicated.

If something is worrying

Every concern is recorded and passed to the director, and we follow the intervention procedure. Reporting to the relevant authorities is a legal duty. The child and family receive support, including a consultation with a psychologist within 7 days.

Who to contact

The person responsible for the standards at both Wioski is Tamara Olko Torrealba.

If the matter concerns this person or the director, you can contact the WIOSKI network team directly (details in Part XI of the document). Concerns can be raised anonymously.
